Forward – 71 head of stock including 21 Sheep and 50 Pigs.

PIGS
Sows trade continues to recover in recent weeks, getting over 60p/kg for a first time in a good while this week for a really big quality sow from D A & C A Buckton, Danthorpe that also topped the gross figures at just a penny or three short of £230. Some quality bacon pigs forward from Abbeygarth Pigs, Welwick, reaching over 200p/kg for a pair of gilts.

Bacon Pigs to 204p/kg and £212.16, average 194.4p/kg.
Heavy Gilts to 116p/kg and £175.78, average 82.7p/kg.

Cull Sows to 61p/kg and £229.97, average 56.6p/kg.
Cull Boars to 48p/kg and £139.20, average 48.0p/kg.

SHEEP
Bluetongue restrictions seem to be holding off for now, and while this is the case sheep continue to be a good trade every week, and with spring lambs looking to be just round the corner, the hope is that this continues with those needing to be marketed on a week-by-week basis, with signs looking promising at the moment.

Prime Hoggs
Mediums to 337p/kg and £150, average 332.8p/kg.
Over-Weights to 248p/kg and £208, average 225.9p/kg.
SQQ 332.8p/kg.

Clean Sheep to 190p/kg and £146, average 184.1p/kg.

Cull Ewes to £118 (231p/kg).

11.30am Fat Lambs
Followed by Cull Sheep
